We are excited to announce that Carolee Schneemann’s work, Body Collage (1967) is included in Sixties Surreal, opening at the Whitney Museum on September 24, 2025!

An ambitious reappraisal of American art from 1958 to 1972, Sixties Surreal highlights the work of more than 100 central figures from the decade. This revisionist survey seeks to reinterpret the era’s fundamental aesthetics while connecting them to their roots in historical Surrealism.

Sixties Surreal will be on view at The Whitney from September 24, 2025 to January 19, 2026.
